Carrot Top
A sophisticated
miss at night clubs, a siren on the screen, Piper Laurie plays down glamour as her
mother's tousled teenster.
It's not the mass of red curls that sit on Piper Laurie's head that really matters,
it's what's under them that counts. She's a planner, a go-getter and a "think-twicer".
Much credit for this cound action on the part of nineteen-year-old Rosetta Jacobs
goes to her mother and father, quiet hard-working parents of Piper and her older
sister, Sherrye. From her dad, Piper inherited much of her artistic ability. Today,
his prize possession, an oil painting she did, hangs in the living room. Because
her mom recognizes her daughters' individual tastes, Piper could choose the furniture,
wall paper and color scheme for her bedroom-sitting room. The theme is Early American,
but the mood is definitely modern. She has stacks and stacks of popular records,
movie magazines and knick knacks. She can hum the tune to the latest song hit, and
gab away on any subject where acting is concerned. When it comes to beaux, she's
pretty nonchalant, has dated Vic Damome, Scott Brady and Ronald Reagan but couldn't
be farther from marriage.
The article is accompanied by two small black and
white photos of Piper and her dog Squeezee in her living room- Using Squeezee
