Cover Girl
It may seem difficult to believe from our picture, but cover girl Piper Laurie
is considered rather dull and conventional by Hollywood standards.
This may be
because she:
1. Hates night clubs, swank restaurants, smart parties, or anything
else that smacks of organized fun.
2. Has remained under contract to the same
studio for six years without a single eruption.
3. Is still unmarried and lives
quietly with her parents.
In one other respect Piper is unusual- she mistrusts
handsome men. "Apart from anything else," she says, "I don't like
having to compete with my escort's looks for attention."
Presumably, her
rather sweeping prejudice doesn't include her leading man- Rory Calhoun, who appears
with her in Universal's "Ain't Misbehaving." Calhoun is too handsome to
be true.
