James and his older brother (2426) John were garrisoned together at Hatfield under the command of Captain Turner the year before [during Turner's Falls fight, 7 Apr. 1676]. "James Wiseman is first of record when he was granted land for three heads Feb.24,1639(40) by the town of Boston where he evidently resided for some years as two of his children were recorded here. Later he removed to Boston where he died in 1681 as shown by his will. A James Wiseman is also on the ship money tax list of 1636 at Braintree, England.
