TWELFTH GENERATION

2384. Ezra Perry Sr.

"PERRY, or PURY, ...(2384) EZRA, Sandwich, m. 12 Feb. 1652, (2385) Eliz, only d. of (4770) Thomas Burge of the same, had (1192) Ezra, b. 11 Feb. foll; (2385ii) Deborah, 28 Nov. 1654; (2385iii) John, 1 Jan 1657; (2385v) Samuel, 15 Mar. 1667; (2385vi) Benjamin, 15 Jan. 1670; and (2385vii) Remembrance. 1 Jan. 1676 or 7."

-- James Savage, "A Genealogical Dictionary of The First Settlers of New England, Before 1692" c/o http://www.usgennet.org/usa/topic/newengland/savage/bk3/leland-lewiston.htm

2385. Elizabeth Burgess/ Burge

NOTES: (2384) Ezra Perry pledged 9s toward the repair of the Meeting House in Sandwich, Barnstable, MA on 7 Jun 1644. He agreed to assist in building a new Sandwich Meeting House on 29 may 1665.

"`Ezra Perry & Elizabeth Burge were maried the 12 day of ffebruarie, Anno. Dom 1651' (source give `The Mayflower Descendant' 14:109). She was the only dau of Thomas and Dorothy Burges of Sandwich (source give NEHGR, 49:240 which may have more on her ancestry).

Note Elizabeth birth is stated to be probably in or near Truro, Cornwall, England, about 1629 -- not 1603 which is highly suspect because of Ezra's birth given here as 1627. However, that may not be good information either because the evidence of Ezra's time of birth comes from his gravestone which shows that he died 16 Oct 1689 in `his 64th year.' That places his birth circa 1625. According to her gravestone Elizabeth died 26 Sep 1717 "in her 88th yr."
