"...(2332) Matthias, a brother and three sisters are the only known children of Richard and Elizabeth. Therefore, Matthias probably was not a brother of the early Farnsworth immigrants, Joseph and Thomas. The relationship between the three remains unknown. However, he may have been and very likely was related to Joseph of Dorchester; from the fact of his naming two of his sons "Joseph," he was certainly interested in the name..."

"...George Farr (was) thought to have come from Burnley, England, arrived in North America in 1629 as a passenger in Higginson's Fleet. He resided in the Massachusetts Bay Colony, town of Lynn, in Essex County (originally Saugus). His first wife was Ann Whitmore. His second wife was (4667) Elizabeth Stowers (or Stower). In 1657 it is reported that George Farr was 63 years old, thus, he was born in 1594. He died in 1662..."

"I do have some information concerning George Farr of Lynn Mass. His date of birth is more likely 1594, because in an appearance before the Court in 1657, George testified that he was 63 years of age. He aparently came to America... from Bedfordshire England, where he was a shipbuilder (in landlocked Bedfordshire??). I Came upon this information from Mileta Farr Kilroy, who compiled a book on the Farr family lineage. Mileta lives in Modesto California and I'm sure she would be happy to give you any information that she can, but she is around 90 years of age, but she is delightful to talk to."

I'm not sure which mother goes with which child. All Torrey said was that George Farr was married to Elizabeth when he came to Lynn. We really don't know much of what happened before then. Mary could very well be Ann Whitmore's daughter

(4667viii_d2) John Farr is shown on one FamilySearch site as married to Eunice Adams of Pomfret, Windham, CT. Others show Eunice married to a John Farr of unknown origin, or (erroneously) to (2321iii) John Farr who married (2321iii[1]) Hannah Applin. The Pomfret Farrs are shown by DNA to be related to Farrs of Irish origin in the Southern US, and NOT to the clan of (2320) Stephen Farr. Family search shows one George Pharr/ Farr (AFN: GTQB-QM), b. ABT 1574 County Antrim, Ireland, d. 22 Nov. 1679 Braintree, Suffolk, MA. Perhaps he was the ancestor of the Pomfret clan.
