A (40141v_a) Thomas Alea c. 6 Nov. 1552 Flamstead i. 7 May 1605 Flamstead m. 15 May 1580 Flamstead, (40141v_a[1]) Elizabeth Pace -- whose sister, Katherine, m. (20069iii) Thomas Halsey. This Thomas Alea (=Alley), however, was apparently the son of (40141v) Edward Ale and not of (20070) John Alley & (20071) Isabel. This Thomas seems to have had sisters Elin & Jone, Elin being confused with (10035) Ellen. Because of the Pace (=Payse) connection, Edward was probably related to John; but these appear to have been two separate families.

The rootsweb sites attribute sons Thomas and John to the presumed first wife, and a second set of Thomas and John to Agnes; but since the birthyears all seem approximate, and no additional information is given about this second set, I will disregard the latter. I've never seen a verified case of someone giving multiple living childen the same name as one another.
