FOR SALE:

"Grasshopper" steam carriage built in 1984 by semi-famous Vancouver small scale steam train machinist Walt Humes. The carriage is chain-driven from a horizontal 2-cyl steam engine that is a one-off. Humes made his own castings (engine patterns included in sale) throughout. The engine was made as a half-scale of a 10-HP Stanley engine. The valves are piston valves. The boiler is a monotube blackpipe boiler.

There is a lot of detail with this steam carriage and you will be impressed.

Pierre boat

FOR SALE:
16 foot double ended ( walnut shape-canoe stern ) strip built wooden boat. Broad and stable, a good 8 + feet. Set up as a sailboat ( gaff rigged ) with a 5 horse gas inboard. Could be made into a pretty steamer if someone loved it a lot. Brightwork isn't bright anymore. Lots of people saw her on the trailer in St. Helens, so ask for opinions. I'm not saying there isn't work there, but there's something that put a twinkle in a few eyes. Includes a Caulkins trailer. Clear titles for both ( Boat - Oregon + 2007 registration, trailer - Washington, both in my name ). Additional views: BOW, STARBOARD, STERN.
$3,000 for all, or try to sweet talk me.

WANTED:
Small hull for steam conversion. Must be sound, traditional looking and have clearance for the usual oversized prop. My plant is 10 sq ft water tube with a 2 X 21/2 engine. It came out of a 12 ft boat and won't push much more than that.
I'm in Nanaimo BC, on Vancouver Island. Importing a used boat into Canada isn't a problem but a trailer can be. To import a trailer you need proof that it was commercially built.
