PPPoE as a method for establishing PPP connections through Ethernet adapters is described in RFC 2516 and is used by many broadband service providers to allow authentication and maintain the familiar "dial-up experience" when connecting to the Internet through a broadband modem.

For Frontier and AT&T you will need this program if you are running an older version of Windows, that is before Windows XP.

You DO NOT need this if you are running a router between your DSL modem and your computers. Your router will do the PPPoe.

Download this program (by clicking the link below) and save this file into a empty folder. Once saved the empty folder use your Window explorer and double click on pppoe.exe. This should extract all the files.
Double click on the "Readme9x.htm" for Win98 and "Readment.htm" for NT. This file will explain to you how to install this program. We also included a file called "943199us8.exe" that is incase you are running Windows 98 Second Edition (not the original Windows 98 release, nor Windows ME), you need to install this file from Microsoft  to prevent your machine from hanging or even completely freezing while using this protocol.
